Sports Day 2023
Last Friday, we hosted our Sports Day in what can only be described as glorious weather!
As usual, the children were absolute stars, competing with big smiles on their faces and showing wonderful sportsmanship. Every single child contributed to a fantastic day!
Thank you to all the parent helpers and GCSE student helpers (many of which are ex-Lowe's Wongians) for supporting throughout the day! The field events were so slick and the children had multiple opportunities to shine.
Thank you to the PTA for providing much needed refreshments - the ice-pops went down a treat!
Thank you to the supporters for creating a warm, respectful and exciting atmosphere for the children to compete in. The children really appreciate you sharing in their success.
And finally thank you to the staff team without whom the day would not run! Preparation and organisation allows the children to cram as many activities in as possible on many of the staff's favourite day of the year!
Although it was an incredibly tight winning margin, congratulations go to Yellow House who overcame Blue House by a mere 2 points in our closest Sports Day to date! Green and Red House were not far behind so maybe we will have a different winner next year!
Congratulations must also go to the staff relay team who pipped the Year 6s on the line (although they perhaps should have been disqualified as they had an international standard runner who is not a member of staff as a ringer)...
