2022/23 Football Leagues
The girls' team have been absolutely brilliant this year! They won the Autumn Tournament and then came runners-up in the County missing out on being County Champions on goal difference.
In the league, a formidable Barnby Road side beat LWJ in a tight 1-0 win which left our girls taking runners-up in the league as well. The clean-sweep was not quite to be but a fantastic season nonetheless - well done girls!
LWJ B-team have been outstanding this season. They have gone the whole season without losing a game. Very impressive. This meant they won the B-team League - huge congratulations children!
LWJ A-team started the season so well but with the league title in their hands, they lost to an exceptional performance from Barnby Road where despite losing 0-3, the LWJ keeper was Player of the Match. They then went away to Coddington, who (bar a 4-2 defeat against LWJ back in September) have been flawless, and unfortunately lost again! Hopefully, the players will come back stronger for it and learn from it - well played!
